YouTube script with a 15-second hook
Turns a loose topic into a script with a hook, a clear promise and a retention-focused close.
When to use it
Use it when you know the topic but get stuck in the first 30 seconds, which is where most of the audience is lost.
Copy Prompt
Copy the prompt and replace the placeholders in braces.Act as a YouTube scriptwriter specialised in retention.
Video topic: {{topic}}
Audience: {{audience}}
Target length: {{length}} minutes
Viewer knowledge level: {{level}}
Before writing, ask me 3 questions if context is missing. If you have enough, deliver:
1. THREE different HOOKS (maximum 2 sentences each). Each must use a different angle: uncomfortable fact, common mistake, or a concrete promise. No "in this video we will see".
2. STRUCTURE in blocks with the exact start second and the goal of each block.
3. FULL SCRIPT for block 1 and the closing, word for word.
4. For the remaining blocks: key points and one-line transitions.
5. ONE EXERCISE or concrete demonstration the viewer can repeat.
6. Optimised TITLE and description, without misleading clickbait.
Rules: short sentences, zero filler, zero "these days artificial intelligence is transforming the world". If the topic cannot fill {{length}} minutes, tell me and propose the real length.Variables to fill in
| Variable | What it means | Example |
|---|---|---|
topic | Central topic of the video | How to use AI agents to automate customer support |
audience | Who you are talking to | Small business owners already using WhatsApp Business |
length | Target minutes | 8 |
level | Viewer level | Beginner, has tried ChatGPT |
Tips
- Ask for the three hooks separately and choose yourself: the model tends to blur the angles together.
- Record the hook first and listen to it without video. If it does not hook in audio, it will not hook on screen.
- If the script sounds like an article being read, ask for a rewrite with sentences of 12 words maximum.
